Palm Bay, Florida police arrested a man on driving under the influence charges after they say the man was obstructing bridge traffic on his motorized wheelchair.
Ronny Scott Hicks, 54, was arrested Monday night after police said they were called to the bridge for a report of an intoxicated man obstructing the bridge.
When they arrived, police said they noticed an odor of alcoholic beverage coming from Hicks, who had slurred speech. Hicks didn’t follow instructions and refused to give a breath test, according to the report.
Hicks was arrested and refused treatment for an open wound. He has two prior convictions for dui.

Now here is my question. Isn’t that wheelchair like Ronnie’s legs. Can he be arrested any time he gets drunk while he is in it? It doesn’t seem fair to me. Sure, give him a ticket for public intoxication or drunk and disorderly but a DUI is pretty severe. What do you think?
