A High Level woman has won $1 Million after purchasing a LOTTO MAX ticket.  Leanor Chalifoux couldn’t hold back tears of joy when she discovered she had won.

  “I was thinking, ‘Please be $20,’” recalled Leanor as she described checking her ticket on the self-checker. “I quickly counted the zeroes on the screen, quietly put the ticket back in my purse, went to my truck and started to cry.”

  And the tears didn’t stop there.

  “I didn’t have my phone with me, so I drove home and told my husband and started to cry all over again,” said Leanor. “Then I pulled out my iPad and checked the numbers online to be sure.”

  Leanor said she plans to use some of her winnings for her children’s schooling, and to save for retirement. However, she also plans to take a few special trips. “We can finally take the honeymoon we never had,” said Leanor. “And we can take the kids on a family vacation, maybe a Disney Cruise.”

  Leanor purchased her winning ticket for the January 27th draw at the Hub Mini Mart, located at 9914 100 Avenue in High Level.
