There's 3 qualifying chances this weekend for this year's YL Country/Caribou Cresting Tournament of Champions. The 5-Star Open in Falher, the Fantasy North Open in Fort Vermilion, and the Midnight Open in Yellowknife all run this weekend.
The Creek Golf Course in Grimshaw has their Junior Open coming up. It runs this weekend. Over the next month the Creek is also hosting the Creek Open, their Ace's Tourney, and the Amazing Race tournament. Sign-up for any of them by calling the Creek's clubhouse at 332-4949.
Sexsmith's Morningview Golf Course puts on a Couples String and Fling tourney this Sunday (Aug1.) To get in just call the clubhouse at 568-4357.
The Annual North Peace Stampede rolls around again August 6th through the 8th at Lac Cardinal. Afternoon performances Saturday and Sunday at 1:30. And there's evening performances all 3 nights. Full slate of rodeo events, midway fun, and the Miss Rodeo competition.
The High Prairie Golf Course has a busy month ahead of them. It starts with their Couples Tourney August 8th. Later in August they're also putting on a Seniors tourney, a Juniors, Glow-Ball, Ladies Cash Scramble, and then their annual Open. Book a spot in any of them by calling the High Prairie course at 523-2696.
The Dixonville Sports Days this year will go September 3rd through the 5th. Can you register for their baseball tourney by calling Ross at 618-7452.
The town of Grimshaw is now accepting applicants for their annual Steve Bolkowy Sports Award. It's in memory of the longtime Grimshaw sports supporter. Nominate someone by August 31st by calling Tracy at 332-4788.
Thoroughbred horse racing is running every weekend through to August 21st. Post times are 6 o'clock on Friday nights and 1:30 in the afternoon on Saturdays and Sundays.
In Valleyview on Mondays there's drop-in adult badminton from 8 to 10 PM at Hillside North. The drop in fee is 2 dollars a night.
There's some drop-in Badminton going on in Deadwood as well. It's goes every Wednesday at the Deadwood Community Hall at 7 o'clock.
